The Trade Fair and Congress season starts anew in March. The German Association of Orthopaedic Technology and the publishing house for Orthopaedic Technology have already taken up the cause of expanding horizons as regards international and interdisciplinary contacts. This includes meetings with the British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists BAPO, the ISPO UK and the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow at the Annual Congress in Bolton and with the participants in the rehaKIND Congress in Berlin last week as well as visits to the Conference "Technically Assisted Rehabilitation - TAR" in Berlin the week before last. Last week a Medical Technology Trade Fair was in Malaysia; the BIV taking part in a joint German stand; last Thursday started the Expolife in Kassel – here, too, the BIV and the publishing house had a stand.
All of these events and presentations serve for reciprocal information as regards the current status of orthopaedic technology and rehabilitation; networking is the task. This is also the purpose of this newsletter. And you can help us, not matter whether you are working in an orthopaedic specialist business or in industry; whether you are a marketing expert, teacher or scientist:
Send us your important events and dates, and all your news about the branch. We will pass on your information free of charge for all as usual.
Please send any criticism, suggestions or publication wishes to redaktion@ot-forum.de.

Already most senior citizens are no longer employed. In the coming years, there will be fewer young people to support a growing number of older people, even as the costs of pensions, health and social care are expected to triple.
